Our accommodation

A new beginning starts here.

What We Provide

  • Safe, furnished homes with everything needed to feel settled — beds, wardrobes, kitchen appliances, and warm, welcoming spaces
  • Personalised placement in shared or self-contained housing based on individual needs and comfort
  • Support with benefits and tenancy setup, including budgeting help and understanding bills
  • Help registering with local GPs, dentists, and essential services so nothing important gets missed
  • CV support and practical guidance for those ready to explore work, volunteering, or training
  • Connections to local community spaces, including churches or wellbeing groups, to help build belonging and purpose
  • A listening ear –  we’re here to talk, check in, and offer quiet support through the ups and downs

Our properties range from self-contained flats to shared houses, and placements are carefully matched to each individual’s needs.

Who we house

We specialise in supporting:

  • People escaping domestic abuse
  • Adults at risk of homelessness
  • Individuals sofa surfing or in unsafe temporary housing
  • Vulnerable people needing stability and low-level support

Our focus is on creating new beginnings through early intervention, personalised support, and safe, stable housing that helps people move forward with confidence.

Every person, every story

Many of the people we help have spent months, even years in many cases,  moving from place to place, hidden from support, or carrying trauma silently. They’ve often been failed by systems that focus more on paperwork than people.

We change that.

At Second Step Homes, every person is met with warmth, listened to without judgment, and supported through small steps that add up to lasting change.

Why this matters

  • 3.9 million people in the UK experienced domestic abuse in the past year, that’s around 1 in 12 adults
  • Over 1.3 million families are currently waiting for social housing across England
  • More than 165,000 children are living in temporary or emergency accommodation
  • Thousands more are sofa surfing or hidden from official homelessness counts

Without safe, supported housing, recovery is harder.
With the right environment and the right care, a new beginning becomes possible.

A safe start and a stronger future

We partner with local authorities, health teams, and ethical landlords to create placements that prioritise wellbeing, not just a roof. Each resident receives ongoing support, goal setting, and guidance on moving forward – whether that means independent living, reconnecting with loved ones, or simply sleeping through the night in peace.

At Second Step Homes, we don’t just house people. We walk with them into the next chapter.
